Build your leadership development by shifting your mindset. Win the mental game.

Have you ever realized something in your leadership needs to change and wished you could just decide to be different? You know, kick your heels together, close your eyes, and it's done?


It's pretty easy to spot what we're doing wrong as leaders. We see something that isn't working and think, "Okay, I need to change this." Sounds simple, right?


I wish it were that straightforward.

Our mindset goes deeper than telling ourselves to "change your attitude" or "come on, get it together."


While those can help us temporarily adjust, they don't lead to the lasting change we're really after.


Real, sustainable change comes from digging deep and understanding our mindset.
It's about getting to the root of why you do what you do and reshaping those underlying beliefs. That's how you make changes that stick and truly enhance yourself as a #leader.


Here's how to start shifting your mindset:


Identify Your Mental Anchor:

  • Begin by pinpointing a negative belief that significantly impacts your actions and thoughts, such as "I'm not good enough to lead" or "I can't handle challenges at work."


Challenge the Mental Model:

  • Challenge your assumptions around this belief. Ask yourself, "What experiences have led me to this conclusion?" and "Is this consistently true, or are there exceptions?" or "What is a different way I can view this?"


Reframe Your Mindset:

  • Reshape the negative belief into a more positive one that aligns with your aspirations. For example, shift from "I'm not good enough to lead" to "I am capable of leading effectively as I gain more experience and knowledge." 


Experiment and Observe:

  • Implement the new mindset in small, manageable situations to build your confidence. Notice how this shift influences your interactions and decisions.


Evaluate and Adapt:

  • Evaluate this new mindset and its effects on your life regularly. Remain flexible, making adjustments as you continue to grow and learn.
